New Features and Improvements

AtScale contains the following new features and improvements.

C2026.1.0

New workflow for validating licenses

The License tab of the Settings page contains a new Validate License button, which you can use to verify that your AtScale license is valid and check for updates.

Note

AtScale automatically validates your license once a day. However, you may need to manually validate it if you know it will expire before the next check. Otherwise, you may experience a temporary loss of service.

For more information, see Validating and Updating Licenses.

Documentation now accessible from the sidebar

You can now access the AtScale documentation using the new Documentation option in the Design Center sidebar. This change ensures that all Design Center users can easily access the documentation.

For more information on options in the sidebar, see About Design Center.

New authentication method for Snowflake connections

Snowflake data warehouse connections can now be configured to use Programmatic Access Tokens (PATs) for authentication. For more information, see Adding Snowflake Data Warehouses.

ATSCALE-43073

New workflow for refreshing datasets

You can now manually refresh datasets to pick up recent changes from the data warehouse. For more information, see Refreshing Dataset Schemas.

ATSCALE-42170

New setting to control model validation queries

You can use the new sml.validation.queries.enabled global setting to enable/disable model validation queries. Disabling this setting may be useful if your models contain large query-based datasets, as their validation queries can be large and costly. This setting is enabled by default.

AtScale recommends setting this value to true in development environments, and false in production.

Note

After updating this setting, you must refresh the browser for your changes to take effect.

For more information, see SML Settings.

Model connection details for Microsoft Power BI now available in the AtScale Connection Portal

Microsoft Power BI users can now obtain model connection details from the AtScale Connection Portal. This enables Power BI users to easily obtain model connection information, without having to navigate through Design Center.

For more information on the AtScale Connection Portal, see Getting Model Connection Information.
