Calculated Measures

A calculated measure uses an MDX expression, often in the form of a mathematical formula, to combine, evaluate, or manipulate other measures defined in the cube.

These calculations are performed in the AtScale engine after results are returned from the data warehouse that you are using. Therefore, they can operate only on the measures that already exist in the cube.
