Rebuilding Aggregates Manually
You can manually perform an initial build or a rebuild all aggregates for a published cube.
Before you begin
Your user should have the Login
, View Aggregates
, and
Publish Projects
permissions. For more information, see Creating and
Editing
Roles.
Procedure
- At the top of the Design Center, choose Projects.
- In the list of published projects, find the cube that you want to rebuild the aggregates for.
- Select the published version of the cube, and select the Build tab to reveal the aggregate rebuild drop-down menu.
- Select one of the two options for manual rebuilding:
-
Standard:
- Build a new instance of each normal aggregate
- Update each incremental aggregate with data that has been changed or updated in the cube since the beginning of the grace period, as well as initiate other background tasks by which the AtScale engine manages incremental aggregates
-
Full: This option builds a new instance of all aggregates, whether they are normal or incremental.

What to do next
After an initial build or rebuild is triggered, you can go to the Aggregates > Build History page for aggregates to view the results. You can also open the cube and click the Build tab.
This page shows whether builds are queued, running, or successful. It also shows whether builds failed.
If a build is running, you can cancel it, if you need to, by clicking Cancel Build in the entry for the build.
In an entry for a build, you can click the View Instances link to find out information about the instances that were or were not built.
