Requesting Cube Discover and Access Rights
Data consumers have two options when using the Data Catalog: request query access, or view metadata within cubes and perspectives.
To request discover access to unavailable cubes and perspectives, go to the Catalog tab at the top of the Design Center homepage. As a data consumer, cubes and perspectives that have been made visible by the data owners will be visible already. Available cubes and perspectives with discoverable metadata have the View button adjacent to them in the Access column. Cubes that have been made visible by data owners, but have query rights restricted, have the Request button listed in the Access column. Selecting the Request button will alert the data owner to your request to query the metadata. Once your request has been issued, the Access column will list a Pending status until your request is approved.
Procedure: Data Consumer
- From the AtScale Design Center, select the Catalog tab on the top menu.
- Select the Request button to request query rights to restricted cubes or perspectives from the right-most Access column. Once selected, the data owner (cube author) will receive a notification and the Access column will list your request as Pending.
- If the request is in review (or if it was denied), a notification will appear, directing you to the Catalog page to see the status of the request.
